Profile Mr. Swen joined the firm of Charlotte Engineering and Surveying, Inc. in June of 2000 and brings to the firm an extensive background in site planning, and landscape and irrigation design. Mr. Swen has worked on numerous municipal projects such as the United States Federal Courthouse in Fort Myers, the CharlotteCountyJusticeCenter, the Charlotte County Jail, and road beautification projects such as Murdock Circle, Beach Road and Edgewater Drive. In addition, Mr. Swen was the lead landscape architect on community beautification projects such as the I-75/US-17 interchange project and the Charlotte County Sidewalk Streetscape project.
Previous Professional Experience Mr. Swen graduated from the University of Florida and began his professional career in 1981 as an intern landscape architect with the City of Gainesville. Thereafter, he relocated to Southwest Florida in 1982, where he took a position as Vice President of Design for a large landscape and irrigation construction firm.In 1985, Mr. Swen became project manager with the landscape architecture and planning firm of Causey, Bender, and Jones in Fort Myers, Florida. In 1988, Mr. Swen opened the firm of John T. Swen and Associates, and expanded the firm from small residential and commercial projects to large-scale residential subdivisions, commercial developments and municipal projects.
